The best place to watch the sunset in Tehran is from the top of one of the many hills surrounding the Iranian capital. Up here, the air is cooler and clearer, and the view over the sprawling sea of pale buildings is magnificent.

The Milad Tower rises above everything else, a thin needle in the skyline, while the Alborz Mountains sit in the distance.

Below, the restless movement of the city carries on. Traffic is inching forward, lights are flickering. The bustle rarely slows down.
