Its leafy northern suburbs, sprawling parks, and the snow-capped peaks of the Alborz Mountains rising beyond the city. That’s what comes to mind when I think of the Tehran, a place I have visited often, whether on reporting trips or as a tourist.

Often I’ve been asked whether traveling to Iran by myself hasn’t scared me.

The question makes me equally sad than it makes me laugh.
